12th Annual Home Tour Features Stunning, Hidden Retreats

Napa, Calif. -- On Saturday, April 25, 2009, five stunning homes in the Napa Valley will open their doors to the public for the 12th Annual Kitchens in the Vineyards home tour. The tour runs from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and features kitchens, dining rooms, entertainment areas and gardens of the five, exclusive homes with spectacular views, impressive guest houses, infinity pools, surrounding vineyards and museum quality art collections.

Each home is styled by noted designers and florists and enhanced with springtime table settings. Homes will also feature tastings courtesy of well-known, Napa Valley chefs and caterers from restaurants including barVino, Hurley’s Restaurant & Bar, Napa General Store, Napa Valley Country Club, Calistoga Inn and Brannan’s Grill. Local authors including Sondra Bernstein, Flo Braker, Autumn Millhouse , Barbara Passino and Gerald Gass will be available to autograph exclusive copies of their books.

Kitchens in the Vineyards is the ideal place to find inspiration for unique construction, state-of-the-art appliances, floral designs and décor. “Every year, our house selection committee manages to compile a spectacular collection of five, vastly different homes – each of which is impressive for its own unique style,” said Natasha Biasell, Public Relations Manager of Music in the Vineyards. “This year the homes are nestled from Yountville to St. Helena offering everything from award-winning, modern architecture to creatively eclectic, farmhouse décor.”

An exclusive Preview Party, sponsored by First Republic Bank and Anne and Matthew Golden, will take place on Friday, April 24, beginning at 4:00 p.m. Guests will board a mini-bus for a private champagne tour and sneak peek of the homes and will return to Black Stallion Winery for a gourmet, buffet dinner party complete with wine and an exclusive tour of a private guest home on the winery property only for Preview Party attendees.

Tickets for Saturday’s tour are limited, cost $65 and are now on sale. Preview Party tickets, also limited, are available for $185. Proceeds from both events benefit Music in the Vineyards, a non-profit chamber music festival held each August at Napa Valley wineries. Wine Country Wedding by Traci Steuteville

A leading Wedding Planner based in Napa Valley, Traci Steuteville, owner of Napa Valley Celebrations, was gracious enough to share with us a romantic wedding she designed that was recently featured in San Francisco Bride Magazine’s premiere issue!

Here are more details of the wedding day, in Traci’s words….

Romance in the vineyards...in all of its lovely, funky, quirky, rusticness, the venue offered great potential, but required the trust and vision of the clients. With Jennie’s love for contemporary design, we challenged ourselves to incorporate a more romantic-country, shabby-chic design. We were able to create drama and romance within the entire space with the use of soft fabric draping on the interior walls and ceiling of the barn and an expansive canopy structure that provided not only shade for the guests but a frame for the magnificent views. On multiple long dining tables we used antique white porcelain in a wide range of shapes and sizes to display the seasonal fruits, berries and flowers in the shades of yellow, peach, and soft pink. Birds were incorporated as the theme for all of the printed materials. We added nests filled with flowers and the tables were marked with vintage drawings of different types of bird species. The newlywed couple and guests danced under the stars and full moon, and yes, the sunset was that incredible...

Attached is also the beautiful feature story courtesy of SF Bride Magazine and additional photography from Sasha Guilish Photography.

Both, Traci and I agree Napa Valley is the most romantic place on the planet and encourage couples to come to elope, wed and honeymoon here soon!
