Here are the details from Chef Michael Chiarello about a very cool event at his new restaurant, Bottega (and one of my favorite places to eat) on March 4th and March 10th. The town of Yountville will be buzzing these two evenings, I can guarantee that!
Chef Michael Chiarello has announced two very special March dinners at Bottega to honor good friends and former Top Chef Masters competitors Rick Moonen and Lachlan Patterson as well as Master Sommelier Bobby Stuckey. The dinners will celebrate their unique, far-reaching culinary influence and showcase their talent to Napa Valley locals and visitors. Chef Chiarello says, “The Napa Valley is in for a real treat. We are so honored to host Rick, Lachlan, and Bobby all the way from Las Vegas and Boulder, Colorado. These dinners are not to be missed.”
Chef Rick Moonen will visit Yountville on Thursday, March 4, to share special treats from his acclaimed restaurant, RM Seafood in Las Vegas, and delicious tidbits of his Top Chef Masters experience with Chef Michael Chiarello. Rick will demonstrate his famous “Moon Doggies” (Shrimp Corn Dogs), dish on “the dish that wasn’t,” and more seriously, talk about his passion for sustainable fisheries. Demo, tasting and book signing of his most recently released and acclaimed book, Fish Without a Doubt: The Cook’s Essential Companion are free; signed books are available for $35. Then Chef Moonen will step next door to Bottega Restaurant to cook star dishes from his RM Seafood Restaurant alongside Chef Chiarello and the Bottega team. Four-course tasting menu and a la carte options available. Space is limited. For reservations to the free demo and book signing from 4-5:30 pm at NapaStyle Yountville, please RSVP to 106manager@napastyle.com or 707-945-1230. For reservations to dinner with guest chef Rick Moonen at Bottega, please RSVP to specialevents@botteganapavalley.com or call 707-945-1050.
On March 10, James Beard Award-winning Chef Lachlan Patterson and Master Sommelier Bobby Stuckey will visit Bottega Restaurant to share incredible Northern Italian food and wine from acclaimed Boulder restaurant Frasca, their Scarpetta wines, and of course, insider commentary on the Top Chef Masters experience. Patterson and Stuckey’s passion for the Friulian region of Northern Italy is apparent and fully integrated at Frasca, where the cuisine of this special Italian region is paired with wines from Friuli, including wines created under their own label, Scarpetta Wine Company. The evening will include a four-course tasting menu of Chef Patterson’s creations paired with Scarpetta wines, select a la carte menu items prepared by Patterson, as well as tastings of Chef Chiarello’s first and only white wine from Chiarello Family Vineyards – a Ribolla Gialla made from a Napa Valley-grown fruit of this famous Friulian varietal. For reservations to this special dinner, RSVP to specialevents@botteganapavalley.com or call 707-945-1050.
